The DexStand is a toolless 24" tall foldable tripod riser that takes about 3 seconds to set up.
Simply grab the outside legs and pull until the 2 spring loaded pins engage. Next, move the straight pins on the bottom level into the locking holes ensuring a total locked platform.
The specially designed Footboxes will work with most spiked legs. Standard rubber yokes secure the spiked feet to the Footboxes. Most round footed tripods like a GITZO STYLE leg of less than 1.25" in diameter sit inside the Footbox. A small spring button is pressed allowing the outer door to rotate upwards and capture the leg.
Each of the 4 adjustable legs have 4" of thread. About 3.5" are available for adjustments to uneven surfaces or slopes up to 5°.
1) Spiked feet use the rubber yokes.
2) Rubber feet (with or without a single screw out spike) sit within the square box. Press the spring button and rotate the door to the upper position. This will trap and lock in the leg and rubber foot.
3) Smooth legs without a wide rubber tip, sit within the square box. With door in lower position, lay the rubber yoke down horizontally and slide the leg thru the center of the rubber yoke and into the box. The yoke and pin will provide friction needed.
4) Old style tripods with legs exceeding the rubber yokes diameter can sit in the square footboxes. For added safety, position the rubber yoke against the leg and securely wrap with gaffer tape or hook & loop style straps or use DexStand Straps.

5) DexStand Strap
The DexStand Strap is the flexible solution to secure legs that are too large or too small for the other solutions. Unscrew the Footbox from the frame, remove locking Star knob, insert the Footbox stud through the the grommet, replace Star knob upside down as shown and reattach the Footbox to the frame. Wrap the strap around the tripod leg 1 or more times, click into buckle and tighten strap.
We do not sell a platform to stand on.
DexStand provides the solution for isolating your tripod from the vibrations caused by occupying the same surface as the tripod. What the operator stands upon depends on the individual use case. Use a 4x4, a painters platform, a platform ladder, folding footstool or stand on the ground. It's up to you. Whatever you choose, be safe and comfortable.
